Nothing says Valentine’s Day like a bright pink heart shaped iPod accessory. Sure it’s just a cheaper knockoff of those cool tube shaped iPod docks we’ve seen before but I really don’t think the target audience for this heart consists of audiophiles who need crisp clear audio. This is more of a blast the latest teen pop sensation and sing louder than the music into your hairbrush type audience.
There’s nothing like a great grilled steak, but if you’re stuck in an apartment, don’t have a grill, or don’t want to freeze outside, cooking weblog The Kitchn offers detailed, easy instructions on how to make a fantastic oven-cooked steak.
Nothing fancy is involved here, just some vegetable oil, salt, pepper, and a cast iron skillet (and, of course, a high-quality steak!). The instructions are quite detailed, right down to where to buy a good steak, what to look for, and how to prep it for cooking. The process itself is extremely easy for even the most amateur of cooks, and shouldn’t take longer than 15 minutes (not including the 20 minutes or so it takes to let the broiler heat up). There are even some instructions on how to create a nice sauce to go with it using what’s left over in the pan. And, while the instructions themselves are very geared towards a ribeye steak, the method should work for other cuts as well (though cooking times may vary). Hit the link for the full how-to.
In reality, the Cool Shades Tape from Azumi and David is meant to be nothing more than just a stylish alternative to boring, clear packing tape. But there’s nothing stopping you from tearing off a few inches and wearing it as a disposable, yet cool, fashion accessory. They’re available in two different flavors, Disc Jockey & Supermodel glasses, or Architect & Intellectual, and each 60mm wide/60m long roll is available from Azumi and David’s online store for about $17.
Moving objects and controlling computers with nothing more than a thought has long been the purview of science-fiction. With an inexpensive, lightweight headset, Emotiv hopes to make that notion a reality for everybody.
This works wonderfully for those cold nights when nothing keeps the chill away. You know, when you look at the framework and there’s ice all over it.. This shade will also keep out those weird noises that wake you up at all hours of the night. Double insulated and overlapping rolls This type of s… By: yeehacmh
There is nothing more frustrating that talking on the phone only to have the line cut off simply because you ran out of juice. Sharp hopes to change that by offering an alternative method to keep your cellphone juiced up at all times, thanks to the Sharp SH6230C which will hit the Chinese market later this February. It is the first solar-powered cellphone by Sharp for the overseas market, boasting Sharp’s proprietary solar cell module alongside a generous 2.9″ LCD display and a 5-megapixel autofocus camera. The solar panel is located on the back of the handset, so you can always leave it by your window at the office to keep it primed for long conversations. No idea on its pricing though, but it is nice to see companies taking a more eco-friendly approach in their products.
Nothing says you trust someone like letting them tie you up. I’ve experimented with a few different designs, and these cuffs seem to be the best blend of style, strength, and practicality. They’re easy to put on and take off quickly (unless you happen to be the one wearing them) and on top of that … By: Smexy Dead
[Kieran] let us know about his hybrid analog/binary clock. The circuitry behind the clock is nothing too new. An Arduino combined with a Chronodot to produce an accurate clock. What we really enjoyed however was the creative implementation of an old British Telecom Linesman’s Multimeter as the case. The analog meter acts as the seconds hand, while a another display made of LEDs diffused with stripboard is the binary clock. The end product is nothing short of ingenuitive.
